English Estates are proudly supporting WIC, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes gender equality in construction.
A recent Government survey found that only 13% of the sector’s workforce is female. Compare this with 21% in energy and mining and 20% in transportation, it is evident that construction has a significant issue with inequality.
As in any industry, construction does have a long road ahead before it reaches equal representation throughout the workforce. However, we believe with the right mentality and commitment to support and encourage organisations, such as WIC, we can all do our bit to create a genuinely inclusive and diverse industry.
